After a two-months break since the season opener in the Philippines, the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series headed to Polignano a Mare, Italy, for a record-extending 12th year. The beating heart of European cliff diving sits in the province of Bari, Puglia region. The scenic little town with its whitewashed buildings sets the stunning stage for the second stop of the season. The 12 men dived from a height of 27 meters, while the 12 women took off from 21 meters.

In the women’s it was once again reigning champion Rhiannan Iffland (AUS) who performed spectacular dives with precision. The Australian record champion claimed her second win of the season and remains the leader in the Series Standings. Simone Leathead (CAN) showed off with solid form and secured second place. It was the first ever appearance in the World Series for wildcard diver Lisa Faulkner (USA) who grabbed a podium spot in third. The men’s competition saw a fierce battle for victory. Carlos Gimeno (ESP) struggled in this location in previous years but managed to fight back with a spectacular win. 41-years old Wildcard diver Gary Hunt (FRA) finished as runner-up, after his victory at the season opener in the Philippines. With this great result, the Frenchman can defend his leading position in the Series Standings. Third place went to Jonathan Paredes (MEX), his second podium of the season already.
