Stage 3 of the Nedbank Gravel Burn marks a relative short and easy one on paper, but the South African Karoo made it quite hard for all the riders. 90km and 1.450m awaited the 500 riders, among them 70 professionals from all different cycling disciplines. Start of today’s stage was Graaff Reinet, South Africa’s fourth oldest town and is known as the Gem of the Karoo. The riders rode into the Karoo highlands and relentless climbs, open exposure, and raw isolation awaits them.
