On June 13, the 22nd edition of the Golden Roof Challenge took place in the heart of Innsbruck, Austria. Twenty-one international elite athletes competed in the pole vault and long jump events on “The FlySwat,” the world’s largest mobile athletics facility certified by World Athletics. Performing right in front of the spectators, they aimed to earn valuable world ranking points toward qualification for the European Championships in Birmingham.
The sensation of the evening was delivered by Paralympic long jumper Fleur Jong of the Netherlands, who had been invited as a special guest to this premier athletics event. She improved her own world record of 6.88 meters, which she had also set in Innsbruck the previous year.
